 Welcome Minimize

Victor Airways (VAW) is a Virtual Airline based on the X-Plane Flight Simulator Version 8, with hubs in New York City, Orlando, FL, and soon, Los Angeles, CA & Toronto, Canada. Founded in January of 2005, Victor Airways boasts the most modern fleet in the X-Plane community.

The Victor Airways Pilot Portal is for VAW Pilots to login to manage their profiles and file flight reports. All are welcome to use the portal, including guests, but visitors must register to use some of the available programs, including the Training Programs. Visitors may become subscribers for a one-time, non-refundable fee. Subscribers enjoy a lifetime access to download all VAW aircraft (new aircraft and updates to existing aircraft!). Non-pilots may also purchase each aircraft individually.  Click Here for purchase options.

From The Hangar:

VAW adds 20 Fairchild-Hiller FH-227s to its livery! This turboprop aircraft seats up to 56 and was a workhorse of the 1970's right up to the present. This aircraft was the one that crashed in the Andes on the short flight from Mendoza, Argentina (SAMQ) to Santiago, Chile (SCEL) due to pilot/controller error in 1972 (story of the film Alive). It flies to 21,000 ft and up to 270 mph. Great aircraft! (Note: Take the Andes challenge - depart SAMQ, fly south for about 20 minutes climbing as fast as possible, head 270 when you get to the mountain pass, cross the Andes and head north to SCEL. This is the approximate path of the doomed Uruguayan flight in 1972.)

Victor Airways is proud to use Boeing's 787-800 Dreamliner as its primary aircraft. VAW purchased the first 50 of Boeing's 787 in January 2005 through a multi-billion dollar contract and rush order, becoming the first airline in the world to begin operations with the Dreamliner. VAW Pilots received advanced training on the 787 in Fall 2004 and the airline began service in January 2005.

Victor Airways pilots should utilize the
Vatsim network for all flights. Pilots are required to report 1 flight per month and fly only the flights listed in the Victor Airways timetable with an appropriate Instrument Flight Plan filed. Victor Airways provides one-on-one training for pilots with questions. Log in to the messageboard and post your questions and a Trainer will respond quickly. No question is too small.
